This lightweight portable cot is a close copy of the Helinox Lite Cot.
It uses aluminium poles and a strong fabric sheet to create a supportive cot bed.
It:
- Keeps you elevated off the ground, removing unevenness in the ground
- Supports bad backs / hips
- Provides extra airflow beneath in humid areas
- No groundsheet required (good for tarp use)
- Able to store items under it
However:
- Cots have no insulation properties - you should add a foil blanket / sleeping mat beneath you in cold conditions
- You need a pillow
- Heavier than most inflatable sleeping mats
